One of my favorite looking cars I saw all weekend. The paint of this 851 made a beautiful car drop dead gorgeous.
One of the only places in the world where an Aventador gets no attention whatsoever.
Me getting to sit in an 851 Auburn! Notice how small the windshield is. (I am 6 foot.)
All the above photos were taken at the ACD Museum. All the below photos were taken at the car auction only five minutes down the road.
I walked away from the GF for maybe 5 minutes while she was looking at this Ferrari and she said the owner came up and filtered with her and she got to sit in the Ferrari!
It is rare to see a Duesenberg. It is even more rare to see a Duesenberg is disrepair. This is a unique glimpse of a Duesenberg before it becomes perfect. Same could be said about the Auburn above.
Best fins in the industry.
Stunning Pierce Arrow 133. I would DD
Not sure if this Cord is a custom or factory body but the Cord 812 Speedster was beautiful.
Always a show stopper.
So much beautiful patina!
The gold window, the landau top, the maroon paint. The 1970’s Town Car Coupe is one of if not my favorite land yacht of the 1970’s.
Would DD the Mercedes CL600 in a minute. Hate that the ABC is so cruel. I plan on owning a V12 before I die though.
Last American car that mass produced a V12. Sad to say it is from 1948. Will we ever see another?
In you live in the Midwest or ever get the chance to go to the Auburn Festival over Labor Day Weekend I recommend you do it. The cars are stunning, the environment is great, and you will likely have a wonderful time.

BATHTUB CONVERTIBLE OMG OMG OMG OMG
I admit the ‘41 (?) is probably more dapper, but this is the one I really want.

Too many to comment on, really - the Riv, the underbite Continental, the Fury... HEY, NONE OF THOSE CORDS HAVE WOODLITES. #GraspingAtStrawsOfNegativity

Ah Daimler.....

Haha that might be the most appropriate application of that meme ever.

I was so entranced by the 41 I honestly missed the Packard!

Day 57. The club has yet to realize I am a Chevy Spark however I continue to get funny looks for my plastic interior.

Did someone follow you with a wheel chair the entire time for when you eventually passed out from overload?
How many times did you go down?
19?
34?
Place your bets everyone!

An original, not one of those common BMWs...

The only Cords I saw with Woodlites were in the museum! Made me sad.

ABC isn't THAT bad (cries softly to self)

First I have ever seen! Really cool.

Hahahaha my girlfriend was there to make sure I didn’t faint too much. She had to keep me restrained like a dog on a leash when they see another dog.

Very early Case... there can’t be many left, even the 20s ones are super rare.

I had no idea it was made prior to BMW
![]() 09/21/2015 at 14:15 |

You haven’t had any problems with it yet have you?
![]() 09/21/2015 at 14:16 |

I took a picture of it because I was unaware of the company prior to seeing that car.

You’ll have to admit it’s odd that that there’s a Caddy is jammed between two Packards in a block with three - the two 18th Series and the 23rd/22nd Series.

I do like how these cars fill a parking space with wheelbase and not much else. Designers didn’t even “overhang” in their vocabulary.

She should have gotten one of those kid leashes and modified it to fit you so she can just yank back on the leash when needed.

Made by Iso in Italy, hence “Isetta.” BMW built them under license and slightly re-engineered them to make them more reliable and durable.
![]() 09/21/2015 at 15:35 |

I would have to imagine parking spaces used to be a lot bigger back in the 30s!
![]() 09/21/2015 at 15:36 |

That wouldn’t restrain me from a Duesy or vintage Lincoln I needed a chocker collar!
![]() 09/21/2015 at 15:37 |

Damn S600! Why must you cause so much joy with so much pain!
![]() 09/21/2015 at 15:55 |

Love the boat tail.
![]() 09/21/2015 at 16:33 |

hahahahahaha
I’m actually not sure why they don’t have a standing restraining order from you being within 500 feet of the event.
You can’t be trusted around Duesy’s or Lincoln’s.

Story of my life. I hope to have it fixed by Friday though, so I can use it for hunting roadtrip.

Seriously is my favorite car.

I didn’t get a picture but I saw a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis
![]() 09/21/2015 at 19:06 |

I must say I marvel you and your courage. I am also supremely jealous. Did you get the Biturbo V12 or the V12 that wasn’t a turbo?
![]() 09/21/2015 at 19:43 |
|
I got the bi-turbo 5.5 L. All the ‘600s after 2003 are the bi-turbo V-12s. Mine also has the sport package and designo leather. Every time I think about maintenance prices, I think that either way, when it’s working (which it usually is) the car is better than 90% of others on the roads.
![]() 09/21/2015 at 20:40 |
|
It is better than everything else on the road you are totally right about that. And that means you have the one with 493hp? It must be a beast
![]() 09/21/2015 at 20:46 |
|
Yeah, it flies. But I don’t think 493 is accurate, I’d love to dyno it at some point. It may be somewhere around 550, but in the future I want to chip it to around S65 levels of power. That plus S65 wheels would be vey good.
![]() 09/21/2015 at 20:52 |
|
You basically have a supercar as it is right now. If you gave it S65 levels of power I have no doubt this would be a supercar
![]() 09/21/2015 at 21:09 |
|
I think as it sits it'll out pull a 430 from 60 up. And as I've decide it be a summer car only, the extra power really wouldn't matter much
![]() 09/21/2015 at 21:14 |
|
I don’t blame you a car this nice should only be a summer car.
![]() 09/21/2015 at 21:29 |
|
I just don't want it to get obliterated by salt/chemicals
![]() 09/21/2015 at 21:33 |
|
I really don’t blame you. Certain cars deserve to be hidden from rust and the S Class is one of those cars
![]() 09/21/2015 at 21:54 |
|
Oooooh hell yes.
Also, jesus these cars are massive.
![]() 09/21/2015 at 22:45 |
|
Basically the size of an SUV
![]() 09/21/2015 at 22:46 |
|
When your roads are typically shit, I suppose all the cars have to be SUVs...
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:02 |

Only 1 Mercury and that’s the one that was there?
*shame*
I mean, not that it’s bad, just not exciting.

No look in the picture with the Volvo. 4th from the bottom.
